E2M office is located in an urban mixed use neighborhood in Dallas, Texas. The office is adjacent to the Katy hike and bike trail. The client’s desire to create a unique and low maintenance urban landscape was realized through the introduction of stone and adaptive and native plant material. The building is wrapped by a fitted basalt boulder plinth, which in turn is planted with drifts of sedum and Yucca pallida. The plants emerge from cracks and joints between the boulders. The project became a detailed exercise in the precision of working with stone and plantings.
