CISTERCIAN FOUNDERS HALL
Founders' Hall Chapel courtyard was transformed from an underutilized and ignored space into an interior courtyard plaza connecting classrooms and the preparatory school's chapel. Site-built furnishings, ample lighting, and sensible paving make the connective space usable. A defined stone plinth, seeded with weeping love grass, serves as the foreground to newly installed stained glass art in the chapel's facade. The surrounding landscape serves to unite the space with a common language of native and adaptive plant materials that define the edges and provide textural and season interest.
