CEDAR HILL
Nested in the wooded terrain high above Joe Pool Lake and near Cedar Hill State Park, this home’s site is on a limestone escarpment among thousands of acres of protected wildlife. The entry sequence to the home winds through a tunnel-like thicket of existing, gnarly oak and cedar trees, opening to the view of the two story, sixty yard limestone spine of the home. Portals in the limestone wall hint at the landscape beyond, including native grass and wildflower meadows and a hillside pool. A concrete connection extends from the home to the pool as an outdoor entertainment space, and it cantilevers over the water’s surface as an exaggerated structure from which to sit and dip your feet into the water.
